What is Makarios and GloryWeb?

Markarios is the Koine (biblical) Greek word for “blessed”. In Matthew 5, Jesus says, “Blessed are the poor in spirit, for they shall receive the Kingdom of Heaven.” He goes on to describe a series of people who are truly blessed. In Revelation 22, He says, “Blessed are those who wash their robes, so that they may have the right to the tree of life and that they may enter the city by the gates.”

This word, “blessed”, means a lot more than we’ve made it to be in America. We tend to just let the word roll off our tongues without regard to depth – we’re blessed if we have a good cup of coffee or a parking place close to the store entrance. I don’t want to take away from that (especially the coffee part!) but makarios means much more than that. The word has a connotation of “large” – so it means “hugely, outrageously, enormously blessed.” The nature of this blessing is God’s highest good for an individual.

One of the core principles in our life and business is reformation. We believe very strongly in Kingdom inheritance, which is essential in true reformation. Simply put, people can be blessed and in turn bless others, who in turn bless others. Rather than starting from scratch each time, these blessings manifest, increase, and multiply as they are transferred from person to person.

And so our desire is to bless you, so that you in turn can bless others…whether you’re a mom or a businessman or a busy pastor.

The name GloryWeb came about a few years ago, when we remembered that God says that the knowledge of the glory of God will cover the entire earth (Habakkuk 2:14). We realized that technology, and specifically the internet, are gifts from God which have a purpose – sharing the knowledge of the glory of God all over the entire earth. If anything in our generation can be described as “as the waters cover the sea”, it would be the web… the GloryWeb. Our role is to help advance the Kingdom of God through the creation of websites that release His glory in the world!

Now, after reading this, I’m sure that some customers will wonder one of two things. You may be a believer who is wondering, “What on earth are they talking about? I’ve never heard any of this stuff about the Kingdom and reformation and glory before.” That’s ok!
